What would I do with a time machine?

Sail away forevermore?

Where would I go in a time machine?

Would I land on a distant shore?

Would I think about those I left behind;

Would I ask them to come along?

Would I stay on my own timeline,

Or journey where I don’t belong?

What would I do with a time machine?

Be a champion who makes things right?

Would I observe or participate?

Would I grow weary of the flight?

What would I do with a time machine?

"Never the What would I miss, but the Who."

Would I acquire amazing knowledge,

Or forget the things I knew?

What would I do with a time machine?

It’s something I’ll never know.

It’s a question without an answer;

It’s winter without the snow.

Just cold and lonely and always “what if”....

But what would I do with a time machine?

Is it romance without being kissed?

Is it an adventure not to be had,

Or an adventure not to be missed?

Lynette Tucker has always been a writer at heart. From an early age she has had a love of words. In second grade, she developed a love of poetry, and in high school, pursued creative writing classes. As an adult, writing had to take backseat to the busyness of life. But now, she is returning to one of her first loves. She has several poems and short stories published through her membership with the Diamond Valley Writers Guild.
